-100 000 : Arrival (from Asia ?) of the Pre-Sapiens at the Eyzies of Tayac and at the Moustier (Dordogne), of Acheulean, Tayac and Mousterian civilisations.

Tools : Paleo-lithic = "old stone" = cut stone (= non polished)

At La Micoque (Dordogne) and in the Garonne valley, Acheulean tools (pebbles knocked on the 2 faces)

About -100 000, Neandertal man appears (coming from Asia ? from Africa ? or native from Europa ?), of the Sapiens family : he can make many tools ("mousterian" lithic industry), can do his own clothes and buries his dead.

-80 000 ans : Neanderthal men in the Moustier (at Peyzac in Dordogne), at the Regourdou (in Montignac inDordogne), at Hortus (Hérault), at La Chapelle aux Saints (in Lozère) and at la Quina (in Charente). Würm glaciation starting.
