IS THE PRUNE OF AGEN PRODUCED AT AGEN ???????????????????????? No, the region of production of this plum, imported back from the Crusades, is produced in Villeneuve on Lot area. It's because the prunes were shipped from Agen that thus they are called. There is the same confusion of origin with Bayonne ham, produced in Bearn.
